| The bumper for my 1986 528e arrived today and it is spotless! Thank you so much for the quick shipment and for the care you put into the preparation and delivery. You were very detailed as to the condition before I purchased it and it arrived in even better condition than I expected. I will be in touch for needs as they arrive in the future. Much appreciated. -- KP

E34 5-Series High-Precision Coolant HosesThis article discusses the U-shaped front coolant hose for the E34 with the M20 engine. The main focus is on explaining how important it is to choose a high-quality hose. The information herein is based on an engine I worked on.

A U-shaped coolant hose curves behind the distributor cap and high-tension leads. At the driver side, the hose carries coolant to (or from, I don't know) the forward-facing metal outlet on the thermostat housing. At the passenger side, the hose guides coolant into (or out of, I don't know) the top of the water pump.
The hose comes very, very close to where the fan is ... and without having been precisely made, the hose will get whacked by the fan, with very bad results.
If you are a believer in "why pay for more if I can't tell the difference in quality anyway" here's one example where I'd uge you to buy the highest-quality coolant hose you can find. If it's made by BMW, good enough. If not ... good luck with that. maybe another brand will also be precisely curved so as to avoid the fan, maybe not.
